My job is training me to be a physical therapist and I'm a medical assistant. Is that good?
-
I got hired in a physical therapy office last week. They knew I was a medical assistant but they want to train me as a physical therapist. Is being a physical therapist better than a medical assistant?
-
Answer:
To be a Physical Therapist in the United States you would need a college degree and often a master's degreee in PT. Your office may be training you to be a PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant). Is it better? It probably pays slightly more. But better would depend on what you enjoy...

to be a PT you need a graduate degree (DPT). To become a PTA (assistant) you need an AAS in PHyical Therapy. They only thing they are training you for is to be an aide or a receptionist. www.apta.org
