Are you a nurse? Do you enjoy your job?

Should I be a family or pediatric nurse practitioner?

  • I am applying to grad school and I cannot decide which kind of nurse practitioner I want to be. I really enjoy pediatrics and would love to work at a pediatric intensive care unit or at a doctor's office. I'm worried about getting a job though in my area as a pediatric nurse practitioner, so that is why I'm considering family nurse practitioner. I live in Morgantown, WV and there are plenty of job opportunities, but I'm just so worried I wouldn't be able to get a job as a pediatric nurse practitioner.

  • Answer:

if you're not willing to relocate then just choose the family nurse practitioner. yeah pediatrics sounds great but if you wanna stay put in your area, then you probably will find it difficult to get a job.
