How much would a NEW RN(Registered Nurse) make?
-
How much would a registered nurse who just graduated college with no real experience make. I know they make about 65k a yr but does that apply to someone who is just starting?

Answer:
I can tell you exactly how much Registered Nurse would start at in Canada. Since all hospitalized nurses are unionized the wages are collated at the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions. Salary ranges are: Lowest is in Quebec with the range going from starting salary (bottom of scale) at $21.41hr - to top of payscale at $31.89 Highest is in Alberta with range going from starting salary (bottom of scale) at $32.43hr - to top of payscale at $42.45 Each province has a different number of steps on the pay scale but they range from 5 - 9 yrs and usually you need a full year of experience to go to the next step. A beginning nurse would make the salary at the bottom of the pay scale, it would not matter what type of patients or what type of hospital you work in the pay scale is the same. The resource site explains this very well and I think it is different than in the US where nurses can get paid differently depending on the hospital or the type of patient they are looking after.

www.payscale.com is the best resource for not only pay but for benefits etc no one here can tell you exactly the right answer and you will need to do this yourself and it takes a few minutes and kinda fun they will need your city, state that plan to work in and if you are not an RN already just fill it out as if you were, under years of experience put 1 year they will ask what school you went to so put one in near you and employer so put in an employer near you that you might be interested in working at this site only takes a few minutes and it accurate good luck Remember anyone else who answers you will not give you the correct answer unless they live in the same city and state

Pay scale is dramatically different from state to state. Of course newbies do not make anywhere close to what an experienced RN of 20 years would make. This is true in all areas of healthcare.
