Medical /dental assistant program?

I am a certified CNA for 11years i notice school trying gear me towards Medical Assistant program why is that?

• I want to look into other programs... But the schools want me to be medical assistant.. All i see is the medical assistant as a CNA program nothing else i tried to take that program i keep dropping the class. Peaple always want me to become a nurse i say not.. What other program out there a CNA can take according to skills.. I have a lot of skills for example i have done receptionest ect.... Just to name a few.. Need feed Back what other programs out there that i can get a job in as a career something unique? I willing to Go back to school... Feed back please and thank You!

  As a former certified home health aide who went back to school to become a medical assistant I can tell you that with your CNA background (health care, compassion, caring, experience in accurate medical charting, and loving to wear scrubs (smile!)) you will very likely ENJOY working as a medical assistant, but probably mostly so in connection with direct patient contact, such as in the back office where patients come in, get weight, their blood pressure taken, interviewed for a brief reason for their visit, current meds, and then prepared for their exam with the doctor. Perhaps the people in the admissions office where you apparently consulted with someone can see that "glow" and compassion in you and that is why it seems they are steering you toward medical assistant training. It could be that, medical coding and billing, if they have this program also, is too detached, too distant from hands on patient care, although that is another very interesting and rewarding career path for someone who likes healthcare. Either way, I will list two websites that will explain the duties, respectively, and like someone already recommended, ultimately just follow your heart.
