Are there any other alternative ways to apply for jobs besides online application?

What are some good ways of searching for jobs?

  • I am wanting to know some good ways of searching for jobs cause I know someone who is unemployed and they have applied just about everywhere and still no luck. They do most of the applying online and always send a resume with the application. Should this person be making follow up phone calls to insure a possibility of getting a call for an interview? What are some sure fire ways that this person will be sure to get an interview from the places they apply to? Thanks for the input, my friend has been out of work for almost the past three years and he needs some help or even a miracle to get a job.

  • Answer:

You should try a work from home based job. I make over $500 a month on this site: HTTP://natpage1.writingjob.hop.clickbank.net. I spend about 1-2 hours a day writing short articles. It is by far the best job I've had so far and the pay is unbelievable!

It would help if you told us what sort of job(s) you're looking for. Something like waitress at a restaurant is better done in person, even if the manager still insists you go to the corporate website to submit your resume. There are websites, like Monster, which are generic job sites you can search for free. If you're looking for a tech-related job, you'll want to look at Dice (Dice.com) which only specializes in tech/IT jobs. I'm sure there are similar sites for different industries as well. Otherwise, there's Craigslist (Help Wanted) and your local newspaper (most are now online.) If at all possible, submit the resume directly to the hiring manager - NOT HR, and not some job-kiosk at the store. If you know someone at the company, give them your resume to submit to the manager. Sometimes they might get a referral bonus if you end up getting hired. Even without the bonus, referrals are given priority over random strangers coming in off the street.

from personal experience, I went to uni to do a degree in computer science, that was 2 years ago and still no job in what i was trained to do. However, now I'm self employed working for a international company as a business development manager. Their now looking for people - full training and support is provided.. may the source below may help?
