Can I be eligible for abroad jobs?

Are there any good programs or somthing out there I can use to travel like studying abroad or temporary jobs?

  • I am 19 going to be 20 years old soon and am really looking to expand my horizon. I've always dreamed of traveling and really want to make it happen asap but the only problem is financially i really cant afford to just up and move somewhere. I would LOVE to study abroad somewhere like in the U.K or Australia but i hear its extremely expensive, does anyone know of any programs or scholarships I may be eligible for to help me do this? Also if not studying abroad maybe I can do something else like work somewhere in another country for a few months just for the experience or become a nanny (Male nanny lol) and live with a family for a while or something. Any help ideas and information or links to websites would be amazing, I just really want to leave the U.S for a while and see what its like to temporarily live somewhere else and experience new things thanks.

  • Answer:

Many state universities and community colleges have 'study abroad' programs. Since the program is considered part of your education you might qualify for financial aid. I know people who did that.

Hey there...check out Leave UR Mark. It's much much more affordable than normal study abroad programs that can usually cost up to $13,000 for only 4 months. They have tons of opportunities for you to do internships and volunteer work abroad and really experience and live in a different culture. Check out the website here: http://www.leaveurmark.com Good luck!

Well, unfortunately your question did not say what state or city you lived in. Check if your city has a sister cities exchange program. Some of these programs have an education requirement (Bachelor's Degree or Associate's.) Get your passport since you want to travel internationally. You could join Hosteling USA international at: http://www.hiusa.org. Get a temporary job and save the money up and travel throughout Europe or where you want to go. Make sure you check with the State Department at : http://www.state.gov/. There you get information that is up to date on visa issues, countries not safe for Americans to travel to or through and what you should do in the event you get into some trouble legally while in another country and other very helpful travel tips. Or you could apply like some of my friends did for a temporary job with a travel company like Princess Cruises for a season and eventually become permanent if you do a great job. Their site is : http://www.princess.com/employment/index.jsp Good Luck, Bon Chance and Happy Trails!
