What qualities is needed to become civil engineer and or eletrical engineer?

Im a 10th grader in highschool and serious about my education. I want to make sure I dont waste my time and effort on classes I really dont need. Im planning on becoming a civil engineer and or electrical engineer but civil engineer best suits my interest. Once i finish highschool, I will go to college and take engineering classes but the point is what classes do i need to take in highschool that will benefit my goal of becoming an engineer. What qualities do i need,facts.informations so I could be ready and better prepared for my future. ty for ur help :)

Math and Science. Take all the AP courses you can get. Drafting, calculus, trig, advanced math, physics, chemistry. Everthing else - just take requirements. No need to take extra foreign languages.
