What are the tips as a sales representative?

Where to start looking for sales representative jobs?

  • Hi I am considering applying for jobs as a sales representative. I have worked in my job for 10 years and I would like a job where I meet more people, build relationships and am not totally office bound. I would like to know from people in sales rep jobs or have experience of them, good companies to work for or ones to avoid. I would need a basic salary of £20k + and to be based in devon. Can anyone advise on this or just generally give advice on the job? Thank you Si

  • Answer:

Well, if you're going to go into sales then you can't be shy. You just hit the job board and send off some resumes. Thing about sales managers is they like go getters. They don't care about your resume as much as other departments. If you can convince them that you're a go getter then you can get the job. The thing is though, you said you want to meet more people. In sales you do meet more people but it's a different kind of relationship. You aren't connecting to them in the same way. It's possible you're really looking for something in customer service and the like. Sales can be friendly, but also superficial and impersonal.
