What questions will be asked in an internship interview?

How do you ask salary questions during a marketing internship interview?

  • Hi, I'm interviewing for a marketing internship. This internship is non-paid but the company is looking to hire the intern (hopefully me) full-time after the internship ends (thats considering they see me as a good fit). My question is this: how and when should I ask salary related questions regarding the full time marketing position? Is it okay to ask before I accept the internship or is it best to ask at the end of the internship if they offer me the full time position? Thanks for your help. Kenny

  • Answer:

I would do research first and see what the competition pays or what other companies pay for their marketing positions. Once you know the number, I would keep that in mind and ask the question after you get the internship. It is always better to ask after you get a position otherwise this does not give off a good impression and it makes you look like you just want money (even if this is what you want :) Also when you get the acceptance letter for the full time position, see how much they will be paying you and would always negotiate to around the amount you saw was average for your field. Good Luck!
