Job At T-mobile Call Center?

Is there something wrong with hating a sales process(job) at a call center and preferring the ....?

  • (continued .. ) customer service one ? I went for a job interview at an International call center today . Its SITEL . I am an undergraduate , only completed my Junior college . I passed initial 2 rounds and at 3rd round , manager started talking about the sales process . I pretty much liked that call center as those offices and facilities were so good . But , I just hate selling . Maybe I don't know how to ! or maybe I am just lazy .. lol Anyways , I asked for service process .. He said they only hire graduates for it ... Is there something wrong with hating sales process ? Is it an indication of my lack to undertake challenges ? thanks !

    Do what you like. Sales sucks because you have to often lie and be tricky to get money. Customer service is just helping customers. For many, sales is better though because they may get paid more based on how much they sell. Another bad thing is that there is pressure to meet a quota. Customer service have to meet a quota as well and take X amount of calls, but probably not as bad since it's not tied to profits. Do what you like. Personally, I hate both. Most people don't like customer service and prefer sales. Sales is also more respectable to most people. If you said you work with CS, most people will think you got a crappy job, but they'll think higher of you if you did sales. People often look down on sales as well...but it depends on what you're selling.

Hello How are you today? Answering your question. There is no reason for you to hate a sales process in Call Center. I will tell you the difference. Sales process is target oriented in terms of sales. Where as Customer Service is target oriented in terms of quality and productivity. The pressure is almost the same in the both the process. Secondly in customer service you have to be humble and assertive where as in Sales you oath to be Aggerssive and be more pushy and sound more confident than you are. And you will get hands on experience in Sales which is wonderful experience. Initially i chose sales industry too which i always thought was not possible by me. But i soon found it very interesting and now i am completely in love with sales and i just love doing sales. And there is hell a lot of money in sales too. How ever dont get carried away its time for you to study and make up your career in something really good than in a Call Center. But if you think of a future in Call Center then go for it. But you shuldnt be hating Sales at all. Its very interesting. Hope i answerred your qusetion.
