Who is marketing manager?

How Many Years Experience Needed for Marketing Manager?

  • I am in a coordinator position in the field of internet marketing. I've been here for almost 2 years now. I work for what could be considered a big brand. This is my first job out of college. Although I am a "coordinator", I don't really feel like one. But I don't think I'm a "manager" either. Somewhere inbetween I guess. I would like to know how many years of experience I should have before looking for an internet marketing position (manager position) at a different company? (I will need to go to another company because there are no opportunities to move up while staying in the field of internet marketing).

  • Answer:

I had over 15 years marketing experience before I managed to get a job as marketing manager and then 2 years later i was made redundant and spent 11 month applying for this type of jib without success because they always went to the people with university degrees, I had a list of college qualifications in sales and marketing and supervisory management, I eventually gave up trying and now have a part time cleaning job, keep the job you have while looking for another but don't expect it to be easy, good luck

All you can do is start applying - different companies will have different ideas about what they want or may be willing to bring you on based on your current experience (Internet marketing, especially if you are familiar with using social media, is a growing field).
