If it is just for your county, you can actually go to the county clerk, and ask for a where they keep the records for the court cases. This should be on computer (is in California, anyway). So you can see all the criminal cases against this person, as well as civil cases, if interested. This will only be for this county though.

Do you know what county they live in? I know that my county has an easy online source to check all arrests and criminal charges for anyone arrested in that county. You might have to dig a little (hello google!) to find it, but it's worthwhile. That sort of check is limited to that county though, so it won't show arrests in the next county over or a different state. To do a nationwide search, you'll have to contact a company that performs them, and for this you'll have to pay.
