What is a good idea for a TV series?

Pitch me an Idea for TV Series?

  • So my lack a lot of imagination has gotten me here.. I am taking a Design and Production class (I HAVE to have a Arts & Humanities class as a general education class - I'm taking this one cuz my roommate is in it so i figure it'll help me get through it) We have to work on a semester long project about a TV series (that'll last @least 3-4 seasons). I am stuck.. I already came up with one idea about 3 guys who are in their 20's and they wanna be poker players for a living and what not.. pretty boring and it got shot down' I need a new idea..Pitch me a quick idea and i'll def give you a thumbs up if you give me a mildly interesting one ... Best idea gets Best Answer! Oh yea, we need to avoid ideas that are about college students, high school students, and reality shows.. Honestly, i wouldn't resort to asking for other ppl's ideas if i weren't so ..writer's blocked, u know? Thanks so much in advance..you don't know how much you are helping!

    well make it somthing like creative llike building cars or somthing like pimp my ride or RIDES somthing like that my show would be doing rebuuilding a 1967 shelby gt500 everyone says oh i love that car cuz i seen it on gone in sixt seconds no i love that car because i actually know what it has in it

Lets see...no college students, no high school students, and no reality shows...no problem. For me personally, I would go for something SciFi, but nothing too SciFi or overly elaborate. But that's me, so think of something along the lines of a favorite book or T.V. show that doesn't involve those three things you can't use. Something like mystery, romance, science fiction (SciFi), fantasy, action, drama in general, etc. All you need to do is pick a category/genre that pops out at you when you list them, and then go from there. Make up a detective for a mystery, or an average Cop or someone that saves people and/or arrests the "bad guys". Basically, start out simple and easy and work your way from there. Oh, and some Science Fiction series have been extremely popular in the past, like Stargate SG1. And take a look at the CSI shows as well.
