True Blood Season 3 Question!?

So the first and second season came out for True Blood. Didn't season three start but stopped like a cliff hanger and is coming back on in January? My sister and I are arguing on it. She thinks that season three stopped and it's coming out soon. Please help me with an answer! Thanks, Courtney

Season Three finished its entire run this summer, there was no break. It only consists of only 12 episodes and ended with a major cliffhanger. Season 4 will return in the summer of 2011
