Can anyone tell me the name of the Magical TV Series?

Does anyone know this movie/tv series name?

Ok, very short on details here, mostly jumbled and in no particular order. Looking for this thing I watched a long time ago, I *think* it was a series, but could have been movie, leaning more towards series though. Basically all I can remember is that earth gets infected by some alien virus, there are two different alien races one of them resembles humans, though (random information) they have very weak skulls. The alien virus affects people in some way and also is creating some kind of organic mass somewhere. It sorta ends with the main female role walking towards this thing as they're about to carpet bomb it with nukes or something. - Not very helpful I know, and if anyone can figure that out from what I've just described I'll be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

Sounds alot like a program called Taken from 2002. Can not be to sure though as I saw this a long time ago.
