How did the main characters end up at the end of lost the series?

Everyone died but not at once everything happened it wasnt a dream sideways universe was purgatory where they went when they died but time doesnt matter there so they might not have died in the story but they did die so they were there. They move on into a new world life or a heaven. Hurley is the new jacob and ben becomes the new richard. Finally jack dies and his eyes close the end it began with an eye it ends with an eye oh and kate chose jack and sawyer was with juliet and suprisingly sayid ended up with shannon

It turns out that Jack sacrificed his life to save the world basically from evil getting off the island. Kate and Sawyer made it off on a plane. The ending was all of the characters (well the very important ones) gathering in a a church..Jack walks in and opens his fathers casket to find nothing and turns and sees him standing. His father explains how where they are there is no now and they were all dead..so they all meet up, love ones reunite and they go into the afterlife together. Kate and Jack ended up together and Sawyer and Juliette together. Juliette died int hat atomic bomb explosion, sawyers death was not shown..and Jack died on the island while Kate lived her live and it was not shown how she died.

That's one question I can at least partially answer: Everyone ends up being with their love they had found on the Island.(or had before the island). Sawyer with Juliette, Jack with Kate, Jen and Sun, etc. However, I never figured out why Ben wouldn't go into the church at the end. He had a girlfriend too at one time.
