How do you participate in the X-Factor?

How is it right that the society we live in mocks performer of shows such as the Xfactor?

• Many people who go on the Xfactor do think they can sing, so why do they get told by 'friends' and the 'judges' they can sing when really they cannot sing, they are in fact tone deaf. In some cases people with mental disabilities have been on the Xfactor and have received abuse for being put on television. Now without just focus on Xfactor i would like to know of any other situations that you may know or your opinions on if shows like this should be banned (britain/america's got talent etc also)

  Of course it should be allowed. It's not like we're ripping these people up off the street, drugging them, and forcing them on stage--they want to go. If they are mocked for it, it was their choice and they volunteered. So why would you ban this?
