Is fading puppy syndrome common?

I accidentally killed a tiny puppy in my dream!?!?!?

• So I've wanted a puppy for a few months now. Anyways last night my dream started amazing. I got an itty bitty little puppy that looked kind of like a pug, but smaller. Like it was so small that it shouldn't have left the mother. So basically I can't remember exactly what I did but I picked the puppy up when I was sleepy (in my dream) and moved it from against my chest so I didn't roll onto it while sleeping. When I moved it I guess it was kind of hard and almost like a toss and a friend said something about it being dead. I picked up the puppy and could see the life fading in a matter of seconds while it was in my hand. I was so sad but didn't cry at all. I was so upset but at the same time I was just like "Well I guess I'm out $300 (price of puppy in dream)' and was debating if I should get another one, making sure to treat it like a porcelain doll and not let anything happen to it. Does this dream mean I should not get a puppy? Was it a warning to take care of the new puppy and be very careful? This was such a disturbing dream to me as I have never intentionally hurt an animal ever, and never have I killed one. I woke up and felt so sad....I'm a puppy killer in my dreams lol.. =/
