HELP! In Harvest Moon DS, I can't save my game. How can I fix it?

Everytime I press Save on Diary 1 AND 2, my game says "failed to save." What do I do? Is there a way to fix it without losing my game file?

Answer:
my sister had a similar problem, the game would let her save but when she turned the ds off and on again, the game was not saved. if u recently got it i would call nintendo. the only way to fix it is to get a new one
