What specs should I have to play Crysis on my Pc?
-
So I'm thinking of buying an alienware and after scanning over all there computer, well there is a lot of choices in the customization section. I heard the saying "If it can play Crysis, it can play anything" is that true? well as of now I think so. So what PC requirements should I choose for my Alienware? to insure I have a great chance at playing any PC game? or if anyone knows any cheaper computers that I can get. Please let me know! thanks.

Answer:
Pretty much any alienware PC/Laptop can play Crysis nowadays. The standard of Crysis has been passed up by other games, but it is still a good benchmark. For a gaming rig that can play most any game, i would look for the following. - Quad core processor. A dual core will work, but a quad core will give it a little extra oomph to get the best performance. Intel has the fastest processors, but your going to pay for them. AMD has more affordable processors, but the way they work isnt nearly as efficient as an Intel processor. - As far as video cards go, the sky is the limit. You can get the top of the line card, but that costs a pretty penny. If you go with an Nvidia card, I would get no less than a 560 Ti. I have an older 260, and it will run newer games like BF3 on medium or high, and will run crysis on high. If you go with an AMD card, go with no less than a 6870. I hear good things about it from my friends who have them, since I dont own one. - I run 6GB of ram. I would suggest no less than 4GB, but that is minimum. Go for 6-9GB if you want the best experience. Make sure the comp comes with a 64-bit OS. Most gaming computer sites sell computers with 64-bit OSes, but just make sure, because if its a 32-bit OS, you can only use 3.5GB of ram, which is no good for gaming. That is what i would look for in a gaming computer. Another alternative is building your own computer. I have built many, and its easy after you get the hang of it. It is sometimes cheaper, and a fun learning experience. I like building my own, and my friends computers. There are a million and one tutorials and guides on how to build a gaming computer, and what parts to put in it. If you do choose to follow a tutorial, and build your own computer, make sure its a modern tutorial, so you get info on the newest parts.
