Xbox 360 Controller For Computer Games?

my bro has a little USB thing he plugs in and he can use his xbox 360 controller on his computer for gaming. I like that, however I'm not a fan of the USB plug in because he seems to have a lot of issues with it. What I am wondering is, are there any virtual programs you can download that will let a person link an xbox 360 controller to the computer for gaming? Thanks

u can use a wire or a usb but there is no such program believe me i have searched and buying a pc controller is better because an xbox Controller is an xbox Controller not a pc Controller
