Where can i find free sims 2 custom content?

Why did all the Sims 3 Custom Conent guides disappear?

I want to install custom content, and I'm looking for a framework download. But all the popular sims-mod websites have deleted them for some reason, and I can't find any guides on what I should do. Is there a reason for this? Am I missing something? Any links to guides and/or downloads would be greatly appreciated.
