How do You Install Patches?

Do I still have to install patches?

• I have installed all of The Sims 2 base game, expansion packs, and stuff packs onto my computer. The Sims 2, Nightlife, and Celebration Stuff came from the Double Deluxe set, University, IKEA Home Stuff, and Teen Style Stuff came from the University Life Collection, Pets, Mansion & Garden Stuff, and Family Fun Stuff came from the Fun with Pets Collection, and Open for Business, H&M Fashion stuff and Kitchen & Bath Stuff came from the Best of Business Collection. All the other EPs and SPs were individual installations. Given that the three Collections came out after the last EP and SP, do I still need to download and install patches? Is there any way to know--because I don't remember from when I originally installed the games--or to check if the games have already been patched? Thanks in advance.
