Why is server sometimes down?

COD4 for PC: Stop a map from loading and checking server list ingame?

• Hi all I have two COD4 (PC version) related questions. 1) Is it possible to stop a map from loading in order to go back to the main menu or server list? Sometimes I want to know which map comes next, so at the end of the game i have to wait until the map starts loading to know. Because I have a slow PC map loading takes a long time. That's why i was wondering if there is some sort of console command or something to stop a map fom loading and go back to the menu. 2) Is it possible to view the server list while you are in game? Sometimes when a good server is full, I play on another server until a spot is free so I can join in. The problem is that, every time I want to see if there is a spot free or not, I have to quit the server I am playing in at the moment so I can check out the server list. This way I lose my score and everything every time i want to see the server list. So is there some sort of command or something in order to see this list without leaving a server? Help is needed and would be much appreciated. Thanks

  q1.. just ask ppl in game, normally the host will tell u q2 i dont think so. not entirely sure tho
