Will the guitar hero ps3 microphone work on ps2?

I just went and got guitar hero world tours for my ps2 and my singstar microphones do not work, so i know that much but i can't seem to find a ps2 guitar hero microphone so i am wondering if the ps3 microphone is also for the ps2? and if it will work with ps2 if i get the ps3 one lol
