im going to get a Ps3 and i want to make sure that if I might need a card or gift card to make an online account to play multiplayer with my friends and talk to them in call of duty black ops. please tell me the truth

Signing up for the PSN is free. Playing online in COD should be free, unless they changed how you need to play, but there is no card/gift card needed. If you want to play certain DLC then you need a PSN card to put money onto your account to buy the DLC.
