How to set up HDMI on PS3?

Help! PS3 HDMI to my HDTV set says it's "not supported"?

• Kay... my situation is a bit more complex, I bought my PS3 in Australia assuming that it would work on any region of HDtv's as long as you're using an HDMI cable, but it's not working on my Korean HDTV! Roughly it says that this Signal is not supported.... And I can't test with the regular cables because those are restricted by the whole PAL/NTSC situation... I tried the system settings hard reset(where you hold the power button for 2 beeps when turning on, and it's as if you're setting up the ps3 for the first time) and it still comes out with teh same results.... please... any solution would be awesome.... could someone atleast tell me if it's my TV or PS3, or if it would be the same if I bought a korean ps3?

  The TV or monitor must be HDCP compliant in order to display via HDMI. It will display a message exactly like you described if the cable cannot find this encryption. Considering that the TV is from Korea, I would not be surprised if it lacks this. You can't just "add" it to the TV, so I'm afraid you'll have to get another TV if it truly doesn't have it.
