Why Does My PS3 messed up?

My PS3 messed up when I updated to 3.40 Firmware How do I fix this?

• My PS3 is a 60gig and when I started the update, the letters on the screen went a little blury. At first, I thought it would go back to normal after the update however, after the update and install, my PS3 froze and every time I would turn my PS3 on, it would freeze. Now, the problem has gotten worse. Now, the picture or audio on the TV won't show up when I play PS3 but for my other consoles, it works so I know its the PS3. This didn't happen until the update. I did get the menu to come up another time. I thought about changing HDMI to AV but when I hooked the AV cord to my PS3, it froze again and then the same problem occurred. I left it alone for two days and then started it back up again. It worked. After about a few minutes, I turned it off by holding the power button which is what I always do, then I turned it back on to make sure the problem went away. Now it won't show up again. How do I fix this?

  After the re-boot for installing 3.40 my PS3 crashed and now freezes before getting to the XMB, called sony, they are aware of the issue and will fix it for $180. You know where you can kiss it Sony! aware of the issue? still want me to pay for it? I wouldnt even use the new features ( vid/pic editing) I have a PC for that, stop forcing your crap on the people and taking up hard drive space, make it a option and just put out the security updates by themselves. I tried the safe mode, didnt wrk and now sony says I have to send it in like others to get it fixed, my newer ps3 phat updated just fine but my original 60gig backward comp, bricked on me. good luck
