How to set up Wired connection to PS3 via Cable Phone Modem?

  • I have a Cable Phone Modedem in my living room and just recently i found a Ethernet connection. And i was wondering how can i get it to work with my PS3. I have tried resetting the Phone Modedem and my PS3 but connection fails or it wont recognize a wired connection. How can i set it up..It works fine in my room when i connect it from my PC Internet modem.

    If you take the cable and plug it into your pc or laptop are you able to surf the internet? It sounds like you have a modem that is not attached to an ISP (Internet Service Provider). If you re not paying for the service, the modem will not allow you to go online with it. The easiest thing to do is to buy a switch, plug the cable from your modem that works into it, then run a cable to your PC and your PS3.
