Questions about PS3 and Netflix?

Can I share my data and PS3 account with a 2nd PS3 in my home?

  • We bought a 2nd PS3 for our family room- mostly because the fan noise (when watching a DVD or Netflix) is driving my wife over the edge. Since my kids are are the primary gamers I would like to be able to let them play on the upstairs and downstairs units interchangeably. The old PS3 is a 40gb "Fat" model, the new PS3 is a 160gb slim. So on with the questions... 1) Can they play under one PS3 account on either machine, by registering this new machine to my current account? 2)The downloads we've purchased- for Little Big Planet, Rock Band etc.- are they then available for download on both machines? 3) I am assuming the game data (game progress, characters created in LBP) are stored on the PS3's hard drive. Can these be moved to the new PS3? Could these even be shared so that progress in game levels or other items are kept current on both machines? 4) I am currently using an ethernet cable with my Fat PS3 (I'm not even sure if it has WiFi); The room upstairs has ONLY WiFi access (only an old phone jack) so any recommendations on connecting the old unit to the internet? Thanks!

1)Yes , but they won't be able to play at the same time. 2)A PSN Download can be re-downloaded or downloaded to another system 5 times , so if you only downloaded it once on your machine (the old one) you still have 4 other times to re-download it , that's the same idea of game sharing. 3)Yes , some saved games on the PS3 Allow you to copy them , but some of the others do not allow you to copy them. 4)Every PS3 system has Wi-Fi ability , you can still connect it by the Ethernet cable , I recommend that but you can still use internet wireless on any PS3 System

1. Yes but you can't be online with the same psn as if someone signs in with the same account the other person who uses the same account will be signed out 2. Yes sign in with your account and you will be able to download all the content to the second ps3 3. You will need to do a backup in order to transfer all your saves or if the game allows to copy the game data you can use a flash drive and transfer them to the other ps3 4. You can get a long ethernet cable that can reach to where you want it to reach you can also invest on a wireless router it can send wireless signals to you household

answer 1 yes but you need to sign in to psn answer 2 yes along with the first one they will also be availible for download but you will have to download them again on the new one answer 3 no sadly game content cannot be shared between ps3s answer 4 if you have one wifi router all your ps3s should work
