My PS3 Controller doesn't turn on at all, even when connected via usb cable?
-
My Dual Shock 3 was connected via usb cable to my PS3 while I was playing a game. Everything was working fine. I set it down and went to do something else for a few minutes. When I returned, I tried playing with it, but it had no functionality whatsoever - the d-pad did nothing, none of the buttons did anything, and even the PS button did nothing. The weird thing is that this happened while the controller was still connected to the PS3. The Controller 1 indicator remained lit up the whole time, as if it was working normally. However, when I unplugged it, and turned the PS3 off, the Controller 1 light stayed on. With my ps3 off, I tried resetting the controller by using a small pin, trying different intervals of holding the button down, and the Controller 1 light stayed on regardless of my efforts. I tried connecting it to the PS3 and turning the system back on, but that had no effect. Right after that, I tried resetting it while it having it connected to the PS3, but that had no effect. I've tried connecting it to my PC, but that had no effect. I've tried resetting it while it was connected to the PC, but that had no effect either. Regardless of what I tried, that Controller 1 light always remained lit up, never going out at any point. It was as if the controller was completely frozen, so to speak. I went to sleep that night, woke up, saw that the Controller 1 light was out and no other lights were on, so I assumed that battery may have got low or died overnight or something. I tried pushing the PS button, and no lights came on. I tried connecting it to my PC, and no lights came on. I connected it to my PS3, turned the system on, and no lights on the controller came on. I tried hitting the PS button while it was connected to the running system, and that had no effect either. Basically, I tried every one of the aforementioned tests from the previous paragraph, and none of them had any effect. The lights remained off, and at no point turned back on. I don't think it's a battery issue, because PS3 controllers function even with no batteries, as long as they're plugged in to the system or PC. Everything above was tried with multiple usb cables that work with other ps3 controllers and usb devices, so it's not that. My controller is not even half a year old, so I'm not sure why it would conk out so soon. Also, no drinks were spilled on it and all that jazz. I've always taken the extra precaution to keep my controller away from liquids, because it's the only one I have. If anyone has any insight on what might be wrong and how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
is this the controler that came with your ps3 was it used or did you buy it separately it could be a knockoff try taking the back off like it says in the manual take the bater out check the conectors for dust and put it back in (be careful about the l2 and r2 buttons though)
