How do I connect my PS3 to Internet wirelessly?

Ps3 wont connect to internet wirelessly?

  • I use to have my PS3 hooked to the internet wirelessly. I had to get another router because the old one i had went bad. With a new router, i obviously had to change my connection settings to connect to this new router. the old router had no password on it and the PS3 connected just fine.. well i DO have a password on this new router and now im having trouble connecting. i put in the password on the PS3 several times and still cannot get it to connect. i have been connected once with this new router and that's it, and that was only for a few seconds and then it just disconnected itself and wouldn't connect back. any suggestions?

    I had the same problem once. my ps3 was sitting under a glass table, didnt think it was a big deal.. but turns out as soon as I pulled the ps3 out in the open, the net worked flawlessly... either that or maybe you need to port forward your ps3 on your router... google port forward ps3 to find out about it, cause the steps of how to depends on your router model

You didn't give much information that could help, so my first question is are you entering the correct type of password (WEP or WPA/WPA2). If you try to enter your password using the wrong encryption type, the Internet will not work. Make sure you know what kind of password your router uses (WEP or WPA/WPA2), then select that when setting up the PS3. The next thing is to make sure UPnP is enabled on the router (you have to go in to the router settings to do this). That is about all I can help with without more information (router model, Internet type). sounds like your router is bad get a linksys router they work better trust me on that you should not have anymore problems.
