Is it possible to play Playstation 2 (online) USING the ps3's wireless connection?

    no you need to hardwire an ethernet cable to the ps2 to play online the old ps3s can play ps2 games on them the one with 4 usb ports

No, the PS3 doesn't output the signal to be used by any other system, it's a receiver only. You would need to connect the PS2 directly, just as deano stated. Unless you have an older Fat PS3 with 4 USB ports that can play PS2 games.
