How To Play Saved Playstation 3 Game Data On Another Playstation 3?

I'm home for the holidays playing on my brothers PS3. I want to start a new game, but when I go back home to my own PS3, all is lost since there isn't a memory card or cartridge with saved data on it. How is it possible to play on a system and swap to another system? Back in the day of memory cards and cartridges this wasn't a problem, or at least wasn't as confusing and frustrating. What am I missing? Thanks.

use a computer memory card and copy it over and put it in the other ps3 then copy it over
