How do i fix the Kingdom hearts freezing problem on PS3?

I never had a problem until recently. I'm playing on Riku's storyline and I've been trying to save but whenever i save and then turn my PS3 off it causes the game and PS3 to freeze up and when i have to go and manually turn it off it causes the game not to save. wats the problem and how can i fix it? D:

Haha yeah, if your PS3 wasn't able to play PS2 games it would say so as soon as you put the disc in. I'm thinking something must be wrong with the disc, I have you tried using it in a PS2. Check the back of the disc for smudges or scratches. To fix this problem I usually just dab my shirt with my tongue and rub it on the disc haha (although a lot of people don't do this). Maybe your PS3 is over-heating also?
