Do I need an HDMI cable?

What type of HDMI cable do I need for my PS3 to a 50" Sayno Plasma?

  • I bought a gold plated HDMI cable at wal-mart. It had a picture of a PS3 on the package. I was playing Madden09 and the screen started to go into a dark shade, then switch to a really light shade over and over. I took that cable back to wal-mart. I then tried to use a gold plated HDMI cable from one of my DVR boxes. It worked fine for a while, then it did the same thing as the first cable. Do I need a silver-plated HDMI cable or something different. Please help me.

    I would check your display or video settings on the PS3. Try a different HDMI port too. Any HDMI cable works; there is no specific one you need.

Just any old HDMI cable should do. Don't get fooled into buying expensive cable - it won't work any better than a cheaper cable. If you're having problems, it either the HDMI port on your TV, or your PS3.

It doesn't matter.....all of the HDMI cables will work the same.....the tips will not make a huge difference unless you have a long cable
