I have a PS3 question?

Iv got a ps3 and not able to play it because of no HD tv i know one is not needed but hey i want to use it to it's fullest. I was told i could use an hdmi cable to connect it to a pc monitor and this is the one i was looking into http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4312740&Sku=H94-2500 could you pleas tell me if there would be an issue as far as sound goes since iv not used a monitor with built in speekers would i need to get external speekers and if so what all would i need to connect them. Thank you for your answers and your time. And pleas no 360 fanboys telling me to get a 360 or a wii or somthing thank you.

You can only use computer monitors that are HDCP compliant. I could not find any info anywhere regarding whether this monitor is compliant or not. If the monitor is not HDCP compliant, you won't get the PS3 video from the HDMI. As for sound, it depends on if the HDMI on the monitor accepts sound. Again, I can't find any info regarding whether the HDMI accepts just video or both video and sound. Given the fact that it has a headphone jack for audio input, I'm guessing its video only. You'll need a RCA female to male headphone adapter for the sound in that case.

just get a proper hdtv wal-mart sells them up to 26 inch for $250-350
