  • Answer:

SOME PS3s can play PS3 games as well as ps2 games the wii can play gamecube and wii games the xbox 360 can play xbox 360 games and SOME older XBOX games buying a used game will play on the console you buy it for, and mainly it is the condition of the disc (scratches and scuffs) that affect if the disc will work or not. if im buying used i tend to ask to see the disc before ill buy it to make sure its not absolutely wrecked. thier is no cross platform compatibility with games consoles off the top of my head. the wii plays wii games, the 360 = 360 games and ps3 = ps3 games. PS3 games will not work on another console.

Games can be used on as many systems as you want. Locking the disc to one system isn't a good business strategy and isn't a smart way to make money. The only issue you should face when buying used is that some game developers will charge you to play online if you buy the game used. However, the pass-code is usually $10 or so and it still comes out cheaper than buying brand new.
