How do I get a wireless router on WII?

How to get the internet on the Wii? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!… :)?

  • I'm 13 and i'm trying to get the internet on my Wii. I have searched it before but the website they gave me was 192.168.1.1 wont load at all. I have Linux/ubuntu 9.10 We do not have windows sadly:( when I get on my Wii it will find out Linksys wireless router and it is unlocked, but you need the SSID number and I do not know where to find that at on my router so i look up that website above and it wont work. One of my brothers said that it might not work because there are too many walls from the game room (where the computer is) to my room (where the Wii is). Also, our router is connected to the modem. If you know a website or how to set up the internet on the Wii will you please help, I would really appreciate it!!!! Thanks:)

  • Answer:

ssid is the router name or network name , usually it will be default at something like linksys or d-link etc. when you search for the wifi signal on the wii you see the ssid of all networks available locked networks require a password or wep kep . located on the router itself unless you set up your own password as a wpa key go to wii options , internet , wireless , search for a network , choose yours , put in the appkey and connect to it to change the routers settings or password requires you acces it , use the disc it came with or just type http://192.168.0.1 or the routers default ip then hit enter on the browser of the pc

The Wii has Wifi???? But no one knows. I think they include a friggen setup guide, plus no one cares since this is on the PS Answer forums.

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/getOnline/index.jsp Your serial number should be on the bottom of your router. The SSID is your networks name. If you have a G router then the distance between the Wii and router could be the problem. Also you should have a security key on your router so no one steals your internet signal.
