How to stream videos from a PC to a PS3?

• hiya my little brother owns a ps3 and he wanted to watch some videos from his computer on it. well some dvd's he owns also dont work on his ps3 due to region locking (he got some from usa). so i suggested he stream them from his pc to his ps3 as he was watching em on his pc, unfortunatly non of us are sure how to set this up. so firstly: will streaming dvd's from his pc (dispite being in american region format) still stream to his pc with no problems? second: how would i set his ps3 up for streaming videos? his pc and ps3 are pretty much side by side so distance is no problem (he is using windows 7 and both run on wireless network- if this is helpfull or not thought its best to add) thankyou very much for replies

  Well I don't know how you "stream" from a DVD playing on your computer to the ps3, but here's what I do. I use a program called "PS3 media server" and I use it to stream .avi files, or just about any other movie file that I have on my computer to my ps3. Just google it and it doesn't take much setup, just download it onto your pc, and make sure your ps3 and pc are on the same wifi network, and your ps3 can find it and access most movie files stored on your pc.
