Help with new 160gb ps3 freezing during gameplay?

just bought a brand new 160gb ps3 this week and only have played transformers 3 dark of the moon on it. and it freezing during gameplay in campaign and online. any ways to prevent freezing or explanations on why it freezes? is the freezing a sign a bigger problems? should i take it back and exhange it?

this happened to my ps3 but it might be because its putting ur brand new ps3 through so much work but everybody's ps3 eventually freezes also try a different game it might only freeze on transformers
