  • a ps3 "installs" the game to the hdd a lot like a pc,but you can download "patches" (exe) for pc games so you can play the games on the pc without the need of the original disc,is there anything like that for the ps3?so i don't have to keep swapping discs to play diferent games?

  • Answer:

no , but more games are downloadable everyday so you can install complete games and play them from the hdd with an upgradeable hard drive there's room for a lot of games I personally have 14 games currently on my ps3 hdd so with one disc in it I have access to 15 games some games will never be on psn though , mgs4 was nearly 50 gigs apparently so it would fill up too much space and take a week or more to download and install

Nope. Its impractical. You're forgetting that a lot of PS3 games are over 20 GB in size. That would eat up your hard drive space rather quickly and leave you disappointed.

There are no "No DVD" patches for the PS3. It only installs part of the game, mainly because the blu-ray drive is slow (2X). The only way to play games without a disc is to download games from the Playstation store.

it doesnt install the game. it installs a portion of the game so you dont have to suffer from ridiculous load times, overheating and a very loud noise
