Why does Ps3 keeps freezing in the middle of an in-game loading screen?

When i play the game, Sonic Generations on the Ps3, the game seems to, not exactly freeze? (I THINK) But it will keep on loading.... and loading.... AND LOADING... FOREVER on the Loading Screen when i'm about to play on a stage!!! It starts out fine when it's starting the game up to the title screen. But it does of what i said above when i get to the loading screen.. ANYONE, PLZ, HELP!??!?!!

I would delete it if it is a download which i think it might be and redownload it if not some games get bad patches and mess them up like my friend for cod4 has to sign off then sign back in when he starts the game or it doesn't alow him to play and it freezes
