How do you download tv shows on the ps3?

I hooked up my ps3 slim to a second tv but all that shows on the screen is format not supported. why?

• i played the ps3 on one tv. i went 2 a buddies and tried hooking it up to his tv using the same hdmi cable but nothing pops up on the screen. all that shows is format not supported. i tested the cable and it works. i wanna find out what wrong with my ps3 slim

  nothing is wrong some tvs do not Support ps3 with hdmi mostly older ones like before the ps3 was made try using the normal cables that came with it that should fix it
