Why is my cable box causing interference?

My PS3 is causing TV Interference?

  • Well, it's not really my PS3 that's causing it. When my T.V. was in my bedroom, I had my PS3 hooked up via S-Video, and ethernet cable plugged into my PS3. Everything ran perfectly fine with no interference. I moved my T.V. out to the living room, (old one broke), and moved my whole set up as well. I hooked everything back up the way it was, except this time I connected my Cable Box. Now when I go to play my PS3, I have interference on my screen, pretty much a bunch of diagonal lines moving across. The weird thing is, the lines only appear if I have the ethernet cable plugged into my PS3. I tried disconnecting the cable box from my TV, but the lines still persist. Does anyone know what I can do to stop this?

  • Answer:

I can't really say how to "fix" it, but my guess would be it's either the TV, PS3, or the actual location of those 2 items. Maybe you could move them, possibly. . .I don't know, just my guess.
