Why wont my Bluetooth work on my PS3?

How does PS3 Bluetooth headsets work?

  • I know this may be a dumb question, but I'm very confused atm. I am about to purchase my sony wireless Bluetooth headset for PS3 - http://www.ozgameshop.com/ps3-accessories/official-sony-wireless-bluetooth-headset-new-design-ps3 But i would like to know how the bluetooth headsets work, i know that it acts as a mic that you may talk into but does the sounds coming from games played come from the bluetooth or out of the TV?

  • Answer:

For the Sony PS3 headset, the game sound comes from the TV (or surround sound, however you have your system set up). The audio that comes from others talking can come from the TV or from the headset, depending on how you have the headset set up. If you want the audio to come from the TV, select Default Audio Device, if you want the audio to come from the headset, select the Headset name. TV audio: XMB > Settings > Accessory Settings > Audio Device Settings > Output Device > Default Audio Device Headset audio: XMB > Settings > Accessory Settings > Audio Device Settings > Output Device > Headset name

It depends. The sounds will still come from thev T.V. There's this game called Metal Gear Solid 4, and for that a select few things come from the mic. It works the same with other games too.
