How can i connect my PS3 to internet?

i need to know how to connect my PS3 to the internet without a router! my modem is connected 2 my laptop. do i have to connect the ps3 to laptop as well or should i directly connect the ps3 to the modem? please give me a step by step tutorial :D btw my modem is wired.

ya sure dude 1 :- you have 2 put ur Ethernet wire into ur PS3 system at back side 2 :- then got 2 settings - Network settings- internet connection settings - ok- custom - wired connection -- Auto detect-- automatic-- 3 DHCP DO NOT SET 4 DNS setting -- Automatic 5 MTU -- Automatic 6 Proxy server ---- do not use 7 UPnp -=--- enable 8 then press X 9 Test connection 10 done
