Signal problems with HDMI cable, PS3 and HDTV?

How to connet Ps3 slim to sony bravia hdtv using hdmi cable?

• I tried connecting my ps3 using hdmi to my sony bravia hdtv but when ever i turn on the tv it says check your output device and nothing appears then i have to connect my av multi cable to see the picture and the picture is displayed in black and white. I also tried setting the color in the display settings it can recongize the hdmi cable on my ps3 but whenever i press yes when it asks whether i want to use the hdmi cable i press 'yes' and then the screen goes blank forever and nothinghappens. Does any one know how to fix this problem?

  If the first cable you used for your Playstation 3 was the standard cable that it came with, it is most likely automatically assuming that is the cable that you are still using. In the past I have had similar issues with my system, and one thing that has worked for me is by simply restoring the system's default settings. The first thing you should do is shut off your system and make sure that you have the HDMI cable connected from your Playstation 3 to your television's HDMI port. After they are connected turn on your tv, and hold down the PS3's power button until you hear it beep a second time. After hearing the second beep it should come up on the screen and have you do the initial display and network setup. Assuming you have the HDMI cable connected it will automatically use the highest resolution possible (which will most likely be 720p or 1080p depending on your tv). Keep in mind that restoring the default settings you are not going to lose any of your system's saved information. Hope this works!
