How can I play my PS3 using a laptop as a monitor?

How to use hdtv as monitor for laptop by using ps3?

But is there a way to connect the laptop(windows7) to the hdtv using the ps3 so that the hdtv can basically be a monitor for my laptop? if so can you explain step by step? if there isnt a way, how does that windows 7 commercial do it?? hah

  I don't understand why you would want to involve the PS3 in this. What's wrong with connecting the laptop directly to the HDTV? EDIT: I still don't understand why you're trying to get the PS3 involved in this versus just connecting the laptop directly to the TV. Why does the PS3 need to be responsible for directing the laptop data to the TV? The PS3 cannot do anything else with your laptop other than sync media items via media server anyway, which makes what you're trying to do even more unlogical, versus connecting the laptop directly to the TV. I dunno what you mean by the second part either, but the PS3 can't transmit anything wirelessley to the TV.
