I have an ipod touch 3g at 4.0 firmware and a ps3 slim i want to know if there is wifi on the ps3?

The ps3 has wi-fi capabilities but it does not emit a internet signal like a router. You must be picking up the signal from your router.

i didnt know that happened, but thats "remote play" for hooking you psp and ps3 together over a private network, thus the ps3. the code to link your ps3 & psp together will be in the the network setting is do believe. Hope i can help =] Niall

Yes of course the ps3 have wifi. that's what allows you to play online with others if you don't have an ethernet cable.

All PS3s except the old 40GB version have built in wifi. If you have Auto-Login set to ON on a user account on your system (or if you just have one account.), the PS3 will enable Remote Play Standby Connection, which will let a PSP connect to the PS3, turn it on, and establish a Remote Play connection even when the device is off. this is handy because otherwise you would have to turn on the PS3 in advance and set it to wait for a Remote Play connection. When I use my iPod or laptop, I see the PS3s standby signal. If you have a Sony Vaio PC with the XMB-style Media Browser, it will also now have Remote Play and can let you browse your PS3 media from the PC. You wont have to enter the code in yourself, just use a USB cable to let the PS3 register the PC. Then it will store the code under high security. You can change the code and enter it manually but unless the device has Remote Play, it wont do anything. So far, only PSPs and Remote Play equipped VAIO PCs can do this. Your iPod cannot.
